What else should I know?

This information is only relevant if you decide to undergo BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®. Some BWRT® sessions may require the 81-90 min session appointment. Medical aid covers for this cost. If you have premium membership (PMB) applied for, the medical aid only covers 51-60 min sessions and so there may be a cash co-payment.

What is BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® (BWRT®)?

‘BWRT®’ stands for ‘BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®’, a modern model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. It uses a totally logical, practical and down-to-earth working method in which it’s not necessary for you to talk about anything you would rather not discuss – the practitioner only needs to know how you feel and how you would prefer to feel instead.

BWRT® is unlike any other therapy you might have heard of or read about, using the latest discoveries in neuroscience coupled with your own unique brain processes to help you get better. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT®, and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code. Find out more For information about BWRT® visit here. You can also find video explanations on the founder’s YouTube page here

What should I expect from the first session?

The first session involves an intake assessment to gather an overview of your important background history, current functioning and the difficulties that brought you to therapy in order to determine how best to assist you. This process typically take 1-2 initial sessions. This is to obtain a holistic understanding of you as a person and your difficulties so as to tailor a treatment plan considerate of your individual personal context. I will explain to different therapeutic modalities that can best assist your specific difficulties, and we will collaboratively agree on a treatment plan

How do you work?

I believe psychotherapy complements rather than replaces religion, spirituality, traditional healing or even positive social support. My role as your psychologist would be to provide you with an individualised space for growth and healing; your role will be prioritising your mental health through attendanceRead More

How long will the therapy last?

Psychotherapy is a process. There is no definitive answer to the number of sessions required; it depends on the nature of the problem, the treatment approach, finances, time, as well as your unique character and circumstances.
